Smith-Schuster aggravates knee, out Sunday

Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster aggravated his knee injury Thursday during practice and has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Bills.

After practicing fully yesterday, JuJu Smith-Schuster was a limited participant in today's practice. Barring any future setbacks, though, he's still expected to play Sunday. Adding him back to the offense, OC Randy Fichtner said, allows the rest of the WRs to go back to their "home spots." RB James Conner was a full participant.

Duck Hodges does have some experience playing in cold-weather games. While at Samford, he played against Youngstown State in Ohio, where temperatures were around 40 degrees with a 5-10 mph wind. "It's cold out there, but once I get out there and get going and get active, I'm not really cold," he said. I am out there sweating and the body heat and everything." He added: "Being a big hunter, I'm used to the cold. No problem at all."

Temps at Heinz Field are forecast to be just above freezing for kickoff Sunday night, but QB Devlin "Duck" Hodges isn't worried about playing in the cold. "Usually Ducks like it when it's a little bit colder anyways," he said. And he's right. Per Ducks.org, "waterfowl possess remarkable adaptations to survive in cold weather." No word, though, if Hodges also possesses insulating features or counter-current blood flow to reduce heat loss in his lower extremities.

Both JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner were full participants for the first time since before the Thursday night loss in Cleveland on Nov. 14. Smith-Schuster (knee) only started running again a week ago. Pretty significant improvement for the WR. RB Jaylen Samuels (groin) and Vance McDonald (concussion) did not practice. Barron, Pouncey, Villanueva and DeCastro all had vet days.
