Bears' Long lands on IR for fourth season in row

Kyle Long has landed on injured reserve for the fourth consecutive season, this time due to a hip injury. He is under contract through 2020 but has appeared in just 30 regular-season games since the start of the 2016 season.

Bears release QB Tyler Bray and re-sign TE Bradley Sowell. Probably a good indication Mitchell Trubisky is back after the bye and Bray is brought back on the practice squad.

Bears film — In the Week 5 loss to Oakland, the Chicago offensive line struggled to create a surge up front and communication breakdowns led to linebackers running free to the ball carrier at times. Very poor performance versus a Raiders defensive front seven that played with more energy and speed. Chicago averaged just 2.5 yards per carry on Sunday. And through five weeks, the club is averaging only 3.40 yards per carry (No.29 in the NFL).

Josh Jacobs rallies Raiders past Bears 24-21

Josh Jacobs scored his second touchdown of the game with a leap from the 2-yard line with 1:57 to play, capping a 97-yard drive that helped the Oakland Raiders rally after blowing a 17-point lead to beat the Chicago Bears 24-21 on Sunday night.

Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro looks like he re-aggravated his knee injury on Chicago's last extra point. Oakland's Arden Key inadvertently ran into Pineiro after he kicked the ball, Pineiro went down and immediately clutched his right knee. Pineiro eventually got up, walked off the field and tested the knee by kicking into a net on the Bears sideline. It looks as if Pineiro will stay in the game.

Bears outside linebacker Aaron Lynch limped off the field near the end of the 1st quarter and is now being examined in the blue medical tent. Injuries beginning to pile up for the Bears who are also currently without Akiem Hicks (left elbow injury).

Bears officially list defensive tackle Akiem Hicks as questionable to return with a left elbow injury.

Bears defensive tackle Akiem Hicks suffered an apparent left arm injury on the game's opening series. Hicks was eventually taken back to the locker room after the team initially sent him to the blue injury tent to be looked at by team doctors. Hicks -- named to the Pro Bowl last year -- missed last week's victory over Minnesota with a right knee injury and was questionable to face the Raiders.

Bears punter Pat O'Donnell handling kickoff duties again as place kicker Eddy Pineiro continues to manage a pinched nerve in his right knee. Pineiro will kick field goals and extra points vs. the Raiders.

Bears right guard Kyle Long is also active for the Raiders game in London after sitting out last week with a hip injury.
