Cardinals CB Peterson gets 6-game PED ban

Eight-time Pro Bowl CB Patrick Peterson of the Cardinals won't appeal a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's PED policy, a source told ESPN. He will be eligible to return Oct. 20.

Over the last two seasons Cardinals opponents have averaged 6.0 yards per attempt and a 49% completion percentage when Patrick Peterson is the nearest defender to the targeted receiver. Against any other Arizona defender those numbers jumped to 7.0 and 66%, per NFL Next Gen Stats.

Arizona's eight-time Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson is being suspended the first six games of the 2019 season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, league sources told ESPN. Arizona's regular-season opener is vs. the Lions, then games at Baltimore, at home against the Panthers and Seahawks, at Cincinnati and at home against the Falcons.

Despite having the wrong cleats, Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray felt good about his first rookie camp practice and he enjoyed finally uniting with coach Kliff Kingsbury seven years after Kingsbury started recruiting him in high school. Murray felt he threw the ball "alright" on Friday but, overall, he thought it was a good first day.

Cards sign No. 1 pick Murray to 4 years, $35M

Saying this is "just the beginning," No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray signed a four-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals worth about $35 million, the team announced.
