Players always dream of making game-winning shots. Mario Hezonja was asked if he ever dreamed about making a game-winning block: “That's what I was saying too. To (Knicks GM) Scott Perrry and (team president) Steve Mills: If you sign me because (of) this defense, you're crazy," Hezonja said with a laugh. "I've never played like this. It happens you know. Especially now. If you look at guys like Klay Thompson and Kawhi (Leonard) and stuff like that: they are as effective on offense as they are on defense and that's what the NBA needs right now to win. That's what teams need. I'm trying my best to be one of those type of guys.”

Mario Hezonja was asked about the Knicks' approach against James in the fourth quarter, when James went 4-15 in LAL's loss: "He just missed shots. Don't get that twisted. He had (33), 8 (assists) and 6 rebounds. He just missed shots. If you are saying you are the reason he's missing shots, you are an idiot. Pretty simple… We did a good job of sending him of where he doesn't like to be, if I can say that because he likes to be everywhere. But yeah, overall good job by the team on playing defense on him."

Mario Hezonja on his approach defensively against LeBron James on the Lakers' last possession, which ended with Hezonja blocking James' drive and sealing the Knicks' win: “He's one of the most un-guardable guys in the world and one of the greatest players of all time. So it is tough. But when we're on the court, who cares? I think you gain respect by fighting for that, so I just didn't care. I wasn't trying to look around. I was just trying to play as hard as I can and try to stop him.”

LeBron James, Kevin Knox and David Fizdale huddled for a conversation outside the visiting locker room after the Knicks' win over the Lakers. Fizdale said earlier in the year that he hoped to connect James and Knox.

The Knicks close their win over the Lakers on a 13-1 run and LeBron James goes 4-for-15 in the fourth quarter. Not the kind of performance Madison Square Garden is accustomed to from James.
