Jared Harper hit a floater in the final seconds of the first half to put Auburn up 51-25 on Kansas. Yes, 51-25 — the largest deficit in Kansas' NCAA Tournament history. Harper and Bryce Brown combined for 31 points on 11 of 16 shooting. Dedric Lawson went just 1 of 7 for the Jayhawks.

Bryce Brown has made all four of his 3-point attempts and Auburn is running all over Kansas, leading by 14 within the first seven minutes.

Kansas is relatively young and inexperienced. Yesterday, all five of their starters made their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Bill Self was asked if he has more gray hairs because he has to do more coaching. He smiled. "I'm not going to say I haven't purchased Just For Men in the last few months."

Kansas big man Dedric Lawson described Auburn as an athletic team that relies heavily on 3s, whereas Kansas' offense plays more inside out. "We're more like an old-school team."

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Auburn's Anfernee McLemore, on the approach against Kansas: "We're gonna let it fly, all day." He said Dedric Lawson is "probably going to be a problem," but thinks Auburn can force turnovers and expose Kansas in transition.

Kansas routed Northeastern, 87-53, cruising into the second round. The Jayhawks shot 56 percent from the field, outrebounded the Huskies by 18 and hit 8 3-pointers. Dedric Lawson, who Bill Self expected to be "our best player," had 25 and 11.

Kansas, a popular upset pick heading into the NCAA Tournament, is sending a message against Northeastern. An 18-5 run gave them a 20-point lead with just over 10 minutes left. Jayhawks have been enigmatic all season, but they're hardly breaking a sweat today.

Kansas is dominating Northeastern in the paint, 26-4. Dedric Lawson put up 16 points and 7 rebounds in the first half, his Jayhawks leading 37-25.
