Hendrick Motorsports continued its mastery of Daytona 500 qualifying on Sunday, as second-year Cup Series driver William Byron gave the team its fifth straight pole for NASCAR's biggest race. It's the first career Cup pole for Byron, the series' rookie of the year in 2018. HMS took the top four spots in Sunday’s time trials (only the top two are locked in), with Alex Bowman second. The fastest non-Hendrick car was rookie Daniel Hemric for Richard Childress Racing.
