Memphis chooses Florida's Veatch as new AD

Memphis has filled its athletic director vacancy with Laird Veatch, who spent the past two years as Florida's executive associate athletic director for internal affairs.

4.37 (u) 40 yard dash time for Memphis RB Darrell Henderson (5-foot-8, 208). That meshes with Henderson's college film. Home run hitter out of the backfield with the long speed to to rip off explosive plays in both gap and zone schemes.

Sources: Memphis is hiring Pete Lembo as special teams coordinator. Lembo, the former head coach at Ball State, Elon and Lehigh, spent this past season coaching special teams at Rice. The Athletic first reported the hire. Lembo, who 112-65 as a head coach, provides a veteran presence for Mike Norvell's staff at Memphis.

Sources: Memphis is hiring Kevin Johns as offensive coordinator, replacing Kenny Dillingham. GoTigers247 first reported the hire, which should be announced today or Saturday. Johns spent last season as Texas Tech's offensive coordinator and has held coordinator roles at Western Michigan and Indiana. He also has extensive experience coaching wide receivers and quarterbacks.

Source: Texas Tech is hiring Memphis defensive line coach Paul Randolph for the same position. Memphis will replace Randolph with Deke Adams, who most recently coached defensive line at North Carolina. Randolph has worked previously at Arizona State and Pitt, among other stops.

Memphis RB Henderson leaving for NFL draft

Darrell Henderson, who is listed as the No. 3 running back in NFL draft positional rankings by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr., is leaving Memphis after his junior year to enter the draft.
